Chef Molly Sell earned her degree in Culinary Arts from Kendall College, Evanston Illinois in 1999. After graduation, she entered the catering field as a chef at Big Delicious Planet. Within 6 months she was in charge of the pastry department producing all pastries for numerous Chicago concerts ranging from 30 guests all the way up to 700 (Lollapalooza 05).

During her 5 years at BDP, Molly had the opportunity to cater for interesting music talent such as Sting, Elton John, Tom Petty, REM, Cher, Harry Connick, Jr., Metallica, Jimmy Buffet, Prince, BB King, Ozz Fest, Coldplay, Kiss and many others.

In April of 2006, Molly accepted the position as Head Pastry Chef with Food For Thought Catering. There she developed and executed pastry menus for parties ranging from 20 to 3000 for top Chicago venues such as The Field Museum, Millennium Park, Chicago History Museum, Adler Planetarium, Chicago Cultural Center, Harold Washington Library, and many others. She also had the opportunity to cater for The Daley Family and the Dalai Lama.

In the summer of 2007, Tart Cuisine was born. Chef Molly wanted to utilize her talents in pastry production, full service catering and culinary instruction in a more intimate setting. Tart Cuisine’s mission is to work closely with the client to provide them with the most satisfying culinary experience possible. This is evident in every product and service Tart Cuisine sells. It has to be because “The Belly Does Rule the Mind”.
